I offer Western charts which emphasize the placement of the Sun; or the Vedic system, which emphasize the influence of the Moon placement. Vedic Astrology is an ancient science and in Sanskrit is called Jyotish, which means The Wisdom of the Heavens and The Science of Light. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WESTERN & VEDIC ASTROLOGY
The Vedic system applies the real position of the planets used by Astronomers against the background of certain fixed stars (unchanging from our perspective). It is called the "Sidereal Zodiac" and in the past, Astronomy included Astrology in the study of the physical heavens.
Western Astrology is based on the orientation of the Earth to the Sun, and applies the "Tropical Zodiac". It assumes that every year the Sun at the Spring and Autumnal Equinoxes is at the first degree of Aries and Libra respectively, and at the first degree of Cancer and Capricorn at the Summer and Winter Solstices.
By this fundamental assumption, the tropical zodiac ignores the Precession of the Equinox. As the Sun moves along its apparent path as viewed from the Earth, it does not return to the same position against the background of the fixed stars. Over 72 years, this difference amounts to one degree, and over 2,160 years it grows to 30 degrees, or one whole sign of the zodiac. While the two zodiacs were together around the year AD 285; currently, there is a difference of 24 degrees (days).
Due to this difference, your Signs may change to the one directly preceding your Western sign as a result. For example, I was born on September 30th. According to Western Astrology, my Sun sign is Libra, with a Scorpio Moon and Leo Rising (Ascendant). In Vedic/Jyotish Astrology, my Sun sign is Virgo, with a Libra Moon and Cancer Rising/Ascendant. I have consistently found that because the Vedic system provides a much more accurate calculation, the results offer amazing insights into the life lessons of our Soul's Contract designed before this incarnation.
